Wine Tasting @ the Bottle Shop

September 5, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 5:00pm on Thursday, repeating indefinitely

This evening we’ve got some very eclectic wines from Carol at Neat Wines. We will be sampling these great wines and showing how great they are for summer time drinking. Stop by the shop from 5-8pm!

Gonzalo Gonzalo “Pink Kong Rose,” Spain $15

Gonzalo Gonzalo, the name of the winemake, does things outside of the box – both in packaging and style. Though there is no outright indication on the label, Pink Kong is a seriously good organic rosado from Rioja Alta made with Tempranillo and Grenache. Gonzalo ferments the juice in steel with native yeasts, ages the finished wine in steel, then bottles it unfiltered with very little sulphur. The flavor is far more interesting, natural, and earthy than most organic rose on the market. A great all-purpose wine for autumn foods and casual drinking.

Medium-bodied, fruity with a dry finish. Replete with raspberry, cherry, and cranberry on the nose and palate. Finishes with bright fruit, funky earth notes, and great acidity. Pair with pasta, poultry, heavy soups, and charcuterie.

Tuck Beckstoffer “75” Sauvignon Blanc, California 2015 $16

The 2015 Vintage in California was once again remarkable and the 2015 vintage of The Seventy Five Wine Company by Tuck Beckstoffer Sauvignon Blanc is a great testament to just how great the white wines from this vintage can truly be.

This wine represents the true essence of the varietal and source. Strikingly focused and concentrated, it showcases wave upon wave of honeyed melon, bruleed white peach and lemon curd on both the nose and palate. The finish is linear and ultra clean showcasing fresh fruit acids and wet stone and leaves you wanting only another glass.

Jenny & Francois Selections “Cousin Oscar” Cinsault, Languedoc-Roussillon, FR $15

Cousin Oscar is a fun, summer, thirst-quenching red Jean-Marie made for fun. Its label is a combination of designs Jean-Marie put together from 50’s magazines. He named the wine after his girlfriend’s cousin (Oscar) who is apparently irresistable to the ladies. Aaaand it’s organic!

Vending Machine Winery “Horror Show,” Napa, CA 2014 $26.50 (Souza 34%/Merlot 33%/ Tannat 33%)

Horror Show is a red blend primarily composed of Sousao, Merlot and Tannat. We change the label every vintage to reflect a new inspiration from that year. The number 6 is often considered the most harmonious of all single-digit numbers and is equated with a loving and caring nature. But what happens when we see three 6’s together? The mind races, the heart skips a beat…we find this wine to have the same effect. Welcome to Horror Show 6(66).
